Luttrell Requests Presidential Disaster Declaration For Severe Weather, Flooding
WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) sent a letter to President Joe Biden in support of Governor Greg Abbott’s request to declare a major disaster for the State of Texas and urging the President to provide Montgomery, Harris, Polk, San Jacinto, and Walker counties with critical Individual Assistance programs.
Luttrell wrote, “The recent catastrophic weather and severe flooding that began on April 26, 2024, has had a profound impact on communities located in Texas's Eighth Congressional District and beyond. Residents have suffered major damage as a result of the catastrophic flooding, particularly to their homes and businesses. More specifically, there has been more than $58 million in public infrastructure damage as reported by local jurisdictions.”
