Luttrell Votes Against Stopgap Bill with No Border Security
WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) released the following statement on his vote against the forty-five day stopgap bill voted on in the House of Representatives today.
“Yesterday, I voted in favor of the Continuing Appropriations and Border Security Enhancement Act because it was a step in the right direction to get our fiscal house back in order and would have strengthened our border security,” said Congressman Luttrell. “While the stopgap bill put forth today fortunately did not include more taxpayer money for Ukraine, it also did not include any border security measures. For that reason, I could not vote to support it. Our border is in crisis and we cannot continue to put our national security in jeopardy. I will continue to work towards solutions to address Washington’s spending problem, lower the national debt, and keep the government working for the People, while also prioritizing the urgent need for border security funding.”
