WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) offered an amendment to the Department of Defense (DOD) Appropriations Act of 2024 that would provide funding for clinical trials on psychedelics as a modality to treat brain injuries sustained by servicemembers and veterans while serving our country. The amendment was adopted and passed in the House of Representatives last night with bipartisan support.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) led a letter to United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra expressing concern over the lack of effort to address Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and advocating for HHS to establish a National Traumatic Brain Injury Task Force to transform the treatment and care of TBI patients.

The legislation now heads to the Senate for consideration.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX), Chairman of Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, was named by Speaker Kevin McCarthy as a conferee to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Committee. As part of the Conference Committee, made up of Senators and Representatives, Congressman Luttrell will work to resolve the bicameral differences in the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2024.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) today introduced bicameral legislation to require the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to take necessary steps when placing an unaccompanied alien child with a potential sponsor inside the United States, especially as recent reports show HHS has been unable to contact 85,000 children in the past two years.
