WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) and Congressman Chris Deluzio (D-PA) introduced the Empowering Law Enforcement to Fight Sex Trafficking Demand Act, which amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to permit Byrne JAG program funds to be used for anti-human trafficking efforts.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) voted today to impeach Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas because of Secretary Mayorkas’ willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law and his breach of the public trust. The vote in the House of Representatives follows a nearly year-long investigation into the border crisis by the Committee on Homeland Security.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) is introducing the Jalisco Cartel Neutralization Act in the House of Representatives. This bicameral legislation would require the Department of Defense (DoD) to establish a strategy to kill or capture Jalisco cartel leadership and provide a report to Congress on their progress. Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) is introducing the companion legislation in the Senate.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) introduced the Defend Our Borders from Armed Invaders Act in the United States House of Representatives. This legislation would authorize the National Guard to escalate force as necessary to repel an armed individual attempting to illegally cross the United States border from Mexico.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) and his Republican colleagues on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III demanding an immediate response to the formal inquiry launched by HASC Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) on Secretary Austin’s disappearance and failure to ensure a “smooth transition from your day-to-day management and leadership of the Department by failing to initiate an obvious and immediate transfer of authority to your deputy and disclosure to relevant officials.”

WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX), along with Congresswomen Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), and Rob Menendez (D-NJ), introduced the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) Pilot Program Act. This legislation would pilot expanding CTPAT to include “freight forwarders” and warehouses, helping reduce disruption of international trade, strengthen border security, and reduce supply chain congestion.

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) scored several key wins in the Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which was adopted in the House and Senate and now heads to the President’s desk to be signed into law. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee and conferee to the NDAA Conference Committee, Rep. Luttrell was responsible for helping craft this legislation.
